Christmas family picture

Well here was our attempt to take a christmas family photo. My wonderful friend Amanda traded a free breakfast to do pictures. I dont think she knew what she was getting herself into. I took 10 min out of my life to make a slide show of the many faces of Jace. It is literally impossible to take a good family photo. Still, I love every picture. This is my cute crazy family, flaws and all!

Laugh for the day

I thought I'd do a bit of free advertising for the new reality show on MTV called BROmance- a show where guys try out to become a part of Brody Jenner's entourage. I about died laughing when I saw the commercial for it while watching The Hills last night. I laugh just typing the word BROMANCE. ( and no Chad, I dont think they want married guys auditioning. )

Much to be thankful for

Here comes the close to another wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Jace and Chad got to go play at the Turkey Bowl while Brenna and I decorated the tree. We then headed over to Chad's aunts house for an awesome dinner where I only had to bring the salad- ha no cooking this year!! Love it! I keep telling Chad that I need a beautiful dining room table and matching dishes from Williams Sonoma before I'm capable of cooking a Thanksgiving dinner.
I am thankful for a million things this year...our family has really been blessed. I'll share just a couple: I am thankful for the chance to be a mother to two beautiful children who constantly make me laugh, cry, dance, sing, debate, and love. I am thankful for a husband who works hard, loves the Lord, never complains, is smokin' hot, and makes us laugh. Most of all, I am thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ who loves and knows me. For the chance to know of the restored gospel and to worship freely. To know where I've come from, who I am and my purpose on earth and to have a living prophet that teaches me the way back home.

Jace at 9 months weighed 23.1 lbs and was 28 inches. You can tell they're siblings. Cute and chubby!!

FINALLY! Twilight heaven

After a long year of waiting, Twilight finally is out in theaters!! I dragged Chad to the midnight showing Thursday. What a good sport. He managed not to make any bad comments.

I've now seen it for the second time and will probably see it a million more times because Im a forever fan. And in case you didn't know, Twilight is kicking butt in ticket sales. New Moon has officially been approved for next year.
I thought Bella and Edward were PERFECT. Especially Edward. He was so scary and sexy all at the same time. It'll be good to see him let his guard down a little in the other movies. So of course I loved the movie because it was Twilight. Yes there were major cheesy moments and they needed about 30 more minutes of just straight dialogue but it was a small budget and a 500 page book. Plus the screenwriter was the same lady who wrote the script for Step Up- the dance movie. I mean come on, what can you expect.(OK NEWS FLASH- I just read that they re-hired the same screenwriter for New Moon. NOT a smart move. They desperately needed a better script the next movie. Thats just what I need...cheesy lines now coming from Jacob. Dang it.)
I was just perfectly content to watch Edward stand for 2 hours. I thought it was really entertaining to be in a room with a ton of fans giggling at the dumbest parts that you would only get if you had the book memorized. The cheesiness really made for a funny movie though. I was laughing the whole time and couldnt stop smiling ever time Edward walk into the room.

Best Moments:

1. When the Cullens first walk into the cafeteria. They all looked amazing.
2. Edward in the rain talking with Bella. HOT

3. The throw down on the bed kiss scene

4. Edward with his sun glasses being all macho

5. The Volvo pulling out of the parking lot
6. The whole prom scene especially when he was about to fake bite her. The look that she gives him when she says I want to be with you forever makes me cry every time.

7. Everyone cast was perfect. Loved Charlie, Jessica, Laurent, and Alice.

9. Baseball scene was fun to watch

10. All the high school kids were just like high school kids. love it when Eric was like..."looks its a worm". I found that funny.

Laughable embarresing hope they change with a bigger budget moments:

1. The makeup!! oh yuck. expecially poor Carlisle

2. Jasper looking possessed all the time

3. The look between Jacob's dad and Edward as they were passing by each other in their cars as well as the look Jacob and Edward shared at the prom.

4. Meadow scene totally stunk!! That was the best part of the book. Laying by each other in weird position, not touching just didnt cut it.
5. Rosalie in her baseball pants (Chad said that one..she looked "fat")

6. The biology scene and Edward looking like he needed to barf. So so so bad.
7. All the special effects.
8. Jacob all around. Oh please use the new budget to get a new Jacob!!

So I'll be taking Jace to the movie Monday. He thinks Edward is like Spiderman. GO SEE IT!!

Historic news

So much has happened these last few weeks. Obama is now our elect president. Not the way I wish things turned out but I will keep him in my prayers as he is faced with a crashing economy and war. Another historic vote that took place was Prop 8. Proposition 8 is about restoring the traditional definition of marriage for the good of our children and society. It was passed by a slim vote in California. The whole world is now pointing their finger at the LDS church. Protesters in front of the temple, ridiculous commercials, harassment against contributors. Unbelievable.
Now here are the facts behind Prop 8:
1. Mormons make up less than 2% of the population of California. There are approximately 800,000 LDS out of a total population of approximately 34 million.
2. If one estimates that 250,000 LDS are registered voters (the rest being children), then out of a total of 5,661,583 yes votes, LDS voters made up 4.4% of the Yes vote and 2.3% of the total Proposition 8 vote (11,050,301).
3. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) donated no money to the Yes on 8 campaign (except for a nominal, and legal, in-kind donation of $2,078.97, to cover the travel expenses of leaders coming from Utah for a meeting). Individual members of the Church were encouraged to support the Yes on 8 efforts and, exercising their constitutional right to free speech, donated whatever they felt like donating.
4. The No on 8 campaign raised more money than the Yes on 8 campaign. Unofficial estimates put No on 8 at $38 million and Yes on 8 at $36 million, making it the most expensive non-presidential election in the country.
5. African Americans overwhelmingly supported Yes on 8. Exit polls show that 70% of Black voters chose Yes on 8. This was interesting because the majority of these voters voted for President-elect Obama. No on 8 supporters had assumed that Obama voters would vote No on 6. The Yes on 8 coalition was a broad spectrum of religious organizations. Catholics, Evangelicals, Protestants, Orthodox Jews, Muslims - all supported Yes on 6. It is estimated that there are 10 million Catholics and 10 million Protestants in California. Mormons were a tiny fraction of the population represented by Yes on 8 coalition members.

The Church released this statement: "The Church acknowledges that such an emotionally-charged issue concerning the most personal and cherished aspects of life -- family and marriage -- stirs fervent and deep feelings. "The Church calls on those involved in the debate over same sex marriage to act in a spirit of mutual respect and civility towards each other. No one on either side of the question should be vilified, intimidated, harassed or subject to erroneous information."

All I have to say is that I am proud of the members of the church who stuck up for what they believe in and worked their rights as a citizen to campaign and vote. Prop 8 was never meant to discriminate or take away rights. A simple vote to preserve the sacred nature of family and marriage will have monumental affects. It is sad that the blame has been laid on our shoulders but I believe that is how it is going to be with many issues to come. Satan knows what he doing guys. Time to fight the good fight! More than even I am so grateful to have a living prophet. There is no gray area when you follow his counsel, counsel that comes straight from our Heavenly Father.

In other news...

Twilight is opening in less than 2 weeks. Here is some Edward eye candy. Shame on you Rob Pattinson doubters. Now THAT is Edward. and yes I am acting like a 13 year old. It'll die down after the movie comes out. Sorry Chad!

Happy Halloween!

Very strange to have two trick-or-treaters this year. Jace(3 years) was of course Edward the vampire with his pale skin and red hair. My sweet little Brenna(8 months) was Snow White although I dont remember the original snow white busting out of her tights like that. We honestly couldn't even button her dress. Love that body!!

Grandma and Grandpa came up for Halloween this year! Grandpa Steve was so nice to help Jace "sort through" his candy. I can't tell anyone how much I love when my parents come up. Having an extra set of hands give me the strength to press on. Life is too short not to be closer to family. Hopefully some day...

Jace's favorite candy was the popsicles (suckers). Freaked out at the smoke machines at some of the people's homes but overall was very into Halloween this year.

My new favorite city

Chad finally decided to let us tag along on one of his business trips. A 6 hour drive with two kids probably is not the smartest thing but I thought we were entitled to a family adventure. Plus I just started watching The Real Houswives of Atlanta on Bravo TV. I was pumped! Here are some highlights:
