Arriving into Wengen Switzerland Day 4

We took the train from Interlochen way up the Swiss Alps into Wengen.  Wengen is where my great great grandmother Suzie was from.  She and her family left to join the church in Utah.  I can't even imagine leaving a place so beautiful but how grateful I am to her and her faith that I now have the gospel in my life.  Reminds me that I can never take advantage of the knowledge I have and that I must live up to their great name.
Few pictures from the train.  The only way to even get up to Wengen is by train.  All people, products, building supplies have to be pulled by train or helicoptered in.

We made it!  At the trainstop in Wengen
They told us our hotel is just up the hill....took us FOREVER to pull our suitcases up the half finished road straight uphill.  That will always be a funny memory though ;) Especially watching Diana and Reed haul up their ginormous suitcases we told them not to bring.

Natural swimming pool(fish and all) that you can swim in
haha and this is Shannon after she "decided" to take a swim!  good one dad!
One of the highlights of the whole trip was dinner.  WOW 5 course meal every night by the most amazing chef.  Chad would run down every morning to check out the menu.
Example of just the appetizers when we walked in
Never ending cheese and bread, cheese and bread, cheese and bread!!  Can you tell how we all progressively got fatter this trip?
Fun to dress up for dinner and not have to worry about noisy kids!  We were totally the nosiest table though--dang Americans!  Funny how are waiter eventually understood to bring multiple buckets of ice and water and never ending rolls to our table.

The colors were just so vivid and bright, air so clean, weather so perfect.  Im moving here.
Oh Heidi!  where are you??

Brienz Switzerland Day 3

Can't get enough of these cute little swiss homes.  They all have beautiful flowers and perfect gardens.
We walked through Interlochen and stopped at a flea market where this sweet old lady was making lace.  My great great grandmother used to do this painstaking work.  Mom and I bought a few lace thingers to remember her ;)

Dad always always stopping to look at the swiss watches.
Shannon has the biggest mouth on earth.
We took this boat down the river to Lake Brienz.  Once again perfect beautiful weather

This is MY house I claimed.  I'll live here someday.
The crew!  minus Diana and Reed probably making out in the back room.
This is the hotel I want to stay at next time we come here.  You have to take a little cog train up the side to even get to it!
 Waterfalls EVERYWHERE
Next we went to Ballenburg Village which is this really cool open air museum where they brought in all these century old Swiss homes from all over Switzerland.  We hiked through the area all day.
Cooking inside an old swiss home
Since we didn't know how to speak German, we just pointed at stuff on the menu and came up with a bunch of yummy food.  Great cheese!
Beautiful 6 story home from the 1800s I believe--look at the detailed wood working!
 Beautiful shanny ;)
This was the oldest house still standing in Switzerland
 Trying on authentic swiss outfits
At the end of the village, there was the BEST chocolate shop ever.  We tried every single one, then went back and got seconds of our favorites.

Best trip ever! Interlochen Switzerland Day1-2

Just got back from heaven!!  This is a trip I've been wanting to take for a long long time.  Chad has never had the opportunity to travel overseas so I knew our 10th anniversary would be a good excuse to do it! Ive always wanted to visit Switzerland since that is where my moms side of the family is from.  and Paris just so happened to be 4-5 hours away.... The trip first started with just Chad and I going.  Then we invited mom and dad since they are awesome to travel with.  Then Diana decided to get married right before, so we had to include them.  Then of course we couldn't leave poor Shanny at home.  Party of 7 here we go!!
Blessed grandma Sandi took 3 weeks out of her schedule to come down and watch the kids.  I probably could have never left them that long if it wasn't her watching them.  This is the picture they sent us the day we left so they could pull a ring off every day we are gone.
On our way!!  Of course luck would have it that we were stuck on the ground at JFK for 4 HOURS before our 7 hour flight.  It was so miserable.  This is our picture BEFORE the 4 hours of waiting.
hehehe this is AFTER (love you Shanny!)
After jumping on and off a few trains, hoping we got it right since everything is in German...we made it to Interlochen(aka finale destination on the last Bachelor).  We spent the first day exploring downtown.
We had beautiful weather the whole trip....just a few afternoon showers that would result in this.
Swiss Army knives---every hear of em?
So charming...
and guess where we ate our first meal in Europe???????  Hooters...thanks Dad  and it was nasty! and expensive!  btw european hooter girls would never cut it in the states.  even i could be a hooter girl here.
The prettiest part of this town was the huge river running through it. Since it is glacier water, it stays this smoky blue color all year.  We were just in awe walking around in pure paradise.  Pictures really don't do justice.  Not even close.
Water was sooooo cold.
lots of kissing pictures ;)
So this guys was crazy.  There was a huge dip under that bridge and he would jump in on his surf board, crash and burn, then start over again.
The girls ;)
So food is very important to the Titensor family...this was a common sight as we passed a restaurant.  Too bad everything is Switzerland is SUPER expensive.  Example--big mac meal at McDonalds $14
Standing in front of our hotel
little did we know there was an exotic night club in the basement

View of the river from our balcony.  The weather was so perfect...just kept the windows open all night and listened to the rushing water....and the lack of crying kids.
Happy 9.5 anniversary sweetheart.  Glad I could share this with my bestest hottest friend ever.
