At the end of a wonderful but exhausting 3 week trip to Utah, Chad and I were looking forward to our flight home. I typically don't get to fly with Chad, so I was all set with my book and magazines expecting some ME time. Little did we know we would experience hell and heaven all in one night!
On our layover in Denver, Brenna pulled away from my hand in the middle of a tantrum and did who knows what to her wrist. The doctor there concluded that she broke it and needed to go to the hospital. The swelling was really bad but after 2 hours of straight screaming, she fell asleep. We decided just to get home...the flight would be miserable with or without 800 dollar xrays and a cast. They put her arm in a sling with an icepack.

The first hour she slept...the last 3 hours she SCREAMED. There was absolutely nothing that we could do to soothe her. If anyone knows Brenna, she didnt even budge at the sight of candy...now that tells you something. It was truly horrifying to witness my child in so much pain and not being able to do anything about it. She didnt move her arm once the whole trip.
When we finally landed(and everyone on the plane clapped when we did, thanks to us) Brenna stopped crying. I run out to meet my friend who was going to take us to the emergency room. 5 min later Chad walks out with miss Brenna...as happy as can be, clapping her hands, hanging onto the railing...basically acting like nothing was wrong. Swelling GONE.
Chad told me that 30 min before the plane landed it finally hit him to pray to Heavenly Father and give Brenna a blessing. He had complete faith that it would work. and it did- she was perfectly whole again.
What an amazing opportunity and wake up call this little miracle was to us. It reminded me to always, no matter what, pray FIRST. Our father in heaven is so anxious to comfort and help. I also gained a deep apprecation for a husband who lives his life so he is worthy of the priesthood and spiritual promptings. I also gained a stronger love for my father in heaven, who had to watch his son our Savior suffer a million times more than Brenna for my sake. This has humbled our little family and brought us closer to what is truly important: our faith, eternal family, and love for Jesus Christ.
