I love Sundays...a day of rest, a day to re-prioritize, a day to be thankful. a day to take the sacrament and learn about my Savior, a day to be with my family.

my own personal weatherman

Jace is very much like his mom....he THROWS himself completely into anything he is interested in..hense the super heros, hense all the decorating blogs for mom.
Lately in Raleigh we've had a lot of storms. Jace has become completely engrossed in anything dealing with weather. He always asks to watch and I quote "abc 11 eyes witness news"- sitting through 30 min news programs just to see a glimpse of the weather.

I decided to embrace this interest in learning and got him a few weather books. I got a really cool one with tornados...

come to find that Jace is so terrified of it that he hides it under the ottoman. nice one mom. He has a love/hate relationship with weather.

However if you would like a report on your weather, you know who to call!!

SpIron Man

And just when I thought I couldn't bear to take another Spiderman picture...Iron Man has been discovered! He goes in early to work with dad and does chores without being asked to earn all the parts to the Iron man outfit(after paying tithing of course!) After earning just about everything, he says he now wants the Iron man "feet". ???

I just had to share this because it has made me really happy these past few months. RSVP!!
R-read and study the scriptures daily
S-smile! Be postive and serve those around you
V-be virtuous in all things--what you wear, watch, read, say and how you act
P-pray-be more thankful, develope a strong real relationship with Heavenly Father
I came up with this idea for our young women at church. Simple things that we've been commanded to do but can be so hard to remember. We paired up the girls into buddies-big sis/lil sis to help remind each other to RSVP on a daily basis. Being accountable to someone else has made a huge difference. and wow, really doing these things daily... I cant go a day now without the peace I feel from reading and praying and even smiling! Sending a quick RSVP! text to my buddy reminds me to take a step back and do the things that are really important. I know that my father in heaven has given us these commandments because he loves us and wants us back with him for eternity. Every time I read and pray, I feel loved and I feel happy and I am a better wife and mother. Simple as that.

Blue permanent marker on the walls, on toys, and on the couch.
"Jace and Brenna!! Who did this!"
Brenna cheerfully hands me a blue marker "Here Mom! ;)"
Jace: "Brenna did it mom, I tried to take the marker"

5 min later...Brenna sitting in time out scribbling on the wall with a pen "Look mom, butterflies!"
I feel so loved ;)
Jace: "Mom, when is it Brother's Day?"
